If the printer does not extrude either of the two materials during the material loading or printing, the respective nozzle may be clogged and needs to be replaced. Also, if you notice burn marks on the model or there are material deficiencies in the model or the support material, either of the nozzles requires replacing. Follow the steps from this manual to complete the replacement properly.

Opening the Front Door

Open the front door.

Initiating the Hotend Maintenance

From the menu select “Maintenance” -> “Hotend Maintenance.” The printer will now move the extruder towards the front.

Nozzle Cover Removal

Remove the nozzle cover.

You can use a flathead screwdriver to remove the cover.

Nozzle Removal

Use the hotend maintenance tool to keep the hotends from moving and unscrew the nozzle counterclockwise using the nozzle key (when viewed from below). Removing the nozzle should take place while the extruder is still hot. When the nozzle is loose, take it out using pliers and follow the instructions from the printer display panel.

Removing Material Remains

Remove the material remains from the hotend using pliers.

Nozzle Assembly

Use the hotend maintenance tool to keep the hotends from moving, install the new nozzle in the hotend and screw it in clockwise using the nozzle key (when viewed from below).

Screw in the nozzle gently; do not use too much force.

Nozzle Cover Installation

Place the nozzle cover on the nozzle and follow the instructions from the display panel.
