Acetone vaporizing is one of the post-processing methods used for smoothing down the surface of a print and giving it a more attractive look. This method works only with prints made with Z-ABS, Z-ULTRAT and Z-ASA Pro.
The acetone vaporizing using a glass container should be a temporary solution. To retain your model’s high quality, it is recommended to use Zortrax Apoller to automate the smoothing process. More details are available at: Zortrax Apoller.

Setting up the Container
1. Put the gauze at the bottom of the jar and secure it using magnets.
2. Carefully pour 50 ml of acetone (1.70 fl.oz.) onto the gauze.
Acetone cannot leak from the gauze inside the jar as it may damage your print.
Smoothing
1. Place the model on the mat. Remember that the surface upon which the model stands will not be exposed to the acetone vapor and, as a result, it will not be smoothed.
2. Cover the model with the jar and leave for about an hour. The model shouldn’t be kept under the jar for more than an hour as the acetone vapor may melt the details or damage your print.
Vaporizing may influence the physical properties of the material and decrease its firmness.
